Elevate Offshore at University College London’s (UCL) Geospatial Careers Event

May 10th: Elevate Offshore participated in University College London’s (UCL) Geospatial Careers Event, represented by our Technical Manager for Survey, Anthony Williams (Tony), and Operations Executive, Paul Philpott.

During the event, Tony and Paul had the unique opportunity to engage with the dynamic minds of tomorrow. They connected with around 50 soon-to-be graduates from UCL’s Geomatics MSc programmes, sharing their personal offshore experiences, career pathways, and industry insights. These interactions sparked inspiration and fostered a rich knowledge exchange among the attendees.

Among the highlights were profound discussions with distinguished figures in the field, Dr. Philippa Cowles (Pippa) and Dr. Cassandra Nanlal. Dr. Pippa Cowles, an expert in multi-GNSS Precise Point Positioning and deformation monitoring, and Dr. Cassandra Nanlal, whose work underscores her commitment to impactful research in coastal and marine conservation.

Tony and Paul also enjoyed catching up with Trevor Moore, Group Offshore Resources Manager at UTEC. The exchange of industry anecdotes and their shared visions for the future added an extra layer of enthusiasm to the event, strengthening connections and laying the groundwork for future collaborations.
