Job Description
Position: Onshore Senior Surveyor
Location: Southampton, UK (commutable distance required)
Rotation: 12-hour shifts on a structured 4 on / 4 off pattern (days & nights)
Type: Full-time onshore role
Relocation: Support available for the right candidate
Scope of Work

Lead survey operations during assigned shifts

Act as the technical escalation point for operational and survey issues

Monitor vessel activity and support real-time survey delivery
-
Ensure positioning systems and survey equipment are calibrated and verified

Troubleshoot acquisition and integration issues
-
Review logs, reports, and shift handovers for quality and accuracy

Perform QA/QC checks on incoming data streams
-
Coordinate with Data Processing, Geophysics, and GIS teams
-
Support project documentation and technical reporting
-
Liaise with equipment and software suppliers when required
Requirements
-
5+ years’ offshore survey experience
-
Degree in Hydrographic Surveying, Geodetic Surveying, or similar (preferred)

Strong knowledge of positioning systems and sensor calibration

Experience troubleshooting complex survey setups

Ability to lead shifts and support operational decision-making

Strong communication and organisational skills
