Fitter – Permanent Position

Location: Kintore, Inverurie
Employment Type: Permanent
Hours: 40 hour per week
Salary: Competitive

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Fitter to join our client’s team on a permanent basis at their Kintore facility.

This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and skilled individual with a strong workshop background to support the inspection, maintenance, repair, assembly and testing of equipment within a busy operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out fitting activities including dismantling, inspection, repair, refurbishment and reassembly of equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and determine suitable corrective actions.
  • Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance and testing of equipment in line with company procedures.
  • Conduct pressure testing and functional checks where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used and equipment status.
  • Assist with the organisation of tools, consumables, spares and general workshop areas.
  • Support mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment for customer requirements.
  • Operate workshop machinery, lifting equipment and tools safely and competently.
  • Assist with stores duties, loading and unloading of equipment and deliveries when required.
  • Follow company policies, processes and procedures, with a strong focus on Health & Safety and QHSE standards.

Requirements

  • NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering is preferred.
  • Relevant work experience in a similar role may be considered in place of formal qualifications.
  • Previous experience working within a workshop or manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work to a high standard of workmanship.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to work safely, accurately and to tight deadlines.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Forklift certification is preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
