Role: QHSE Officer
Start date: ASAP
Duration: Negotiable – 3 months minimum
Location: Remote (some travel expected to HQ in Belgium/KOMs as required)

As a QHSE Officer with our client you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, quality, health, environmental, and information security aspects of our projects.
Together with the project teams, you help create and maintain a safe working
environment for our employees. In the event of incidents, such as collisions,
blackouts, or equipment loss, you take the lead in resolving the situation and
implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
You will oversee projects from start to finish, working closely with the Project
Manager and Party Chief. You will also report weekly on incident follow-up
to our high-level clients.
- Conduct analyses and support the development of QHSE project plans
- Perform audits covering safety, quality, environmental, and information security aspects
- Support the tender department with QHSE input for potential clients
- Act as the main client contact for all QHSE-related matters
- Ensure delivery of QHSE project documentation and deliverables
- Implement GEOxyz QHSE policies at project level
- Support execution of the project QHSE management plan
- Organise and report on toolbox talks and awareness campaigns
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, and the Safety Culture Ladder
- Monitor and follow up on safety observations and incidents
- Conduct workplace inspections and report via internal systems
- Support project teams during client audits at project sites
- Carry out subcontractor audits
- Contribute to implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 27001
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in safety, quality, maritime studies, or a related field
- Experience in structured project management
- Experience in quality and safety
- Familiarity with ISO standards (advantageous)
- Knowledge of ISO 27001 (especially clauses 4–10) or willingness to develop in this area
- Strong interest in the maritime sector and willingness to travel within Europe (4–5 times per year)
- Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
- Solution-oriented, resilient under pressure, and detail-focused
