Workshop Technician – Mechanical/Hydraulic

Location: Kintore, Aberdeenshire

We are currently recruiting for a Workshop Technician – Mechanical/Hydraulic to join our team based in Kintore. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technician with a strong mechanical and hydraulic background to work on a diverse range of specialist equipment used within the subsea and offshore sectors.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, inspection and repair of hydraulic and mechanical equipment, ensuring all assets are maintained to the highest operational and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance, servicing, fault-finding and repair of hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
  • Prepare, inspect and test equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic faults and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and service records.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and safety standards.
  • Support workshop operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with equipment mobilisation and preparation for offshore operations where required.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Proven experience in the maintenance and servicing of hydraulic and mechanical equipment within a workshop, offshore, marine or agricultural environment.
  • Experience using hand tools and working within workshop environments.
  • Experience working with mechanical machinery including:
    • Hydraulic Power Units (HPUs)
    • Hydraulic Reelers
    • Grabs
    • Hydraulic Shears
  • Experience working with Subsea ROV and Diver Equipment, including:
    • BOP Pumps
    • ROV Torque Tools
    • Stanley Diver Tools
    • ROV Cleaning Tools
    • Intervention Tools
  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience within the subsea, offshore or marine industries.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and subsea intervention equipment.
  • Experience supporting offshore operations and equipment mobilisation activities.
