Following the success of UK-based programmes, Elevate Offshore and Suffolk Survey & Subsea Services Ltd (S4), part of the Innovatum Ltd Group, have delivered their first international Survey Project Management for Marine Survey course in Kuala Lumpur.
From 19–21 November 2025, senior offshore professionals, contractors, freelancers and client representatives from across Malaysia and the wider Asia-Pacific offshore sector attended an intensive three-day training programme at the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur.
This milestone represents a key step in Elevate Offshore’s continued expansion of its Training & Professional Development Programme and reflects growing global demand for specialist offshore project management capability.
Kuala Lumpur was selected as the first international venue due to its increasing importance within the offshore energy market and the region’s strong appetite for upskilling opportunities.
Instructor Arron Burrows delivered the course with a highly practical, industry-led focus. Participants were quick to highlight the value of learning from an expert with extensive real-world experience:
“Learning directly from a subject-matter expert is the easiest and most effective way to elevate your skills. It’s a blessing when someone is willing to share decades of professional experience so openly.” — Ahmad Rizuan
“Arron brought a level of practical insight that was genuinely unthinkable. It wasn’t just theory. It was real-world wisdom covering every stage of a successful marine survey project.” — Che Muhammad Luqman Hakim
Arron commented on the significance of the course being delivered outside Europe for the first time, praising the high level of interaction and engagement throughout the sessions.
The training programme covered the full survey project lifecycle, including:
Participants valued the blend of structured teaching, group discussion and real-world scenario exercises. A networking dinner at Serai Restaurant, Pavilion Mall, Bukit Bintang, also strengthened professional relationships across the regional offshore community.
“This course has boosted my confidence and motivated me to apply the knowledge gained to upcoming offshore projects. Highly recommended for anyone aiming to excel in Offshore PM roles.” — Syaiful Abu Bakar
The Kuala Lumpur programme reinforces Elevate Offshore’s ongoing commitment to raising project execution standards across the offshore survey industry.
Managing Director, Andrew Blears, commented:
“For anyone looking to step up into project management or sharpen their offshore PM skills, this course is a strong opportunity. Arron Burrows and the S4 team consistently deliver a robust programme, and the feedback has been excellent. It’s three days focused squarely on real-world delivery — how offshore projects actually run, how to plan effectively, and how to respond when things don’t go to plan (which, in our industry, is more often than not).
The training is led by people who have done the job, not just talked about it, and we keep groups intentionally small to ensure every participant can fully contribute and get the most from the experience.
We’re committed to delivering training wherever the industry requires it. When there is demand in a region, we listen and respond. Our goal is to support the sector by equipping offshore professionals with the confidence and capability to deliver safe, efficient and successful survey projects.”
Due to strong interest and positive feedback from the Kuala Lumpur course, Elevate Offshore and S4 will continue their international expansion. Additional Asia-based deliveries are in planning for early 2026. The next UK-based Survey Project Management for Marine Survey course will take place in Birmingham in February 2026:
